Position Overview: The IBM System Programmer will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IBM z/OS systems and related software. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mainframe environments, particularly with z/OS and associated technologies. This role requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to maintaining high-performance systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain IBM z/OS operating systems and subsystems.
- Manage and support ZOSMF and SMP/E environments.
- Perform dump analysis to diagnose and resolve system issues.
- Provide technical expertise in Assembler language for system-level coding and debugging.
- Maintain and support Broadcom Top Secret security system to ensure data protection and compliance.
- Oversee CICS installation, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Generate and analyze SMF reports for performance monitoring and system tuning.
- Utilize SAS and MXG for advanced data analysis and reporting.
- Manage and support Broadcom program products such as CA 1, CA 7, and Endevor.
- Ensure robust network connectivity and troubleshoot networking issues in mainframe environments.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM z/OS systems.
- Proficiency in ZOSMF and SMP/E installation and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of Assembler language and dump analysis.
- Expertise in Broadcom CA-Top Secret highly preferred
- Experience with CICS installation, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Demonstrated experience with SMF reporting, SAS, and MXG.
- Familiarity with Broadcom products like CA 1, CA 7, and Endevor.
- Strong networking knowledge in mainframe environments.
