Program Manager – Operational Training & Exercise Support

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and mission-focused Program Manager to support the Air Force Medical Command (AFMEDCOM) Operational Training and Exercise Branch (A3T). This position plays a critical role in advancing the readiness and capability of Air Force Medical Services (AFMS) personnel by supporting initiatives such as the Comprehensive Medical Readiness Program (CMRP), Clinical Systems Program Assessment Review (CSPAR), Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), and other AFMS readiness training efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the lead advisor and programmatic point of contact supporting AFMEDCOM/A3T operational training programs.
  • Develop, coordinate, and manage readiness training initiatives, performance metrics, and improvement actions.
  • Facilitate communication between HQ AF, AFMEDCOM, MAJCOM POCs, and field stakeholders.
  • Analyze data from multiple sources and present findings to senior leaders.
  • Identify and address performance barriers; coordinate root cause analysis and implement countermeasures.
  • Organize, coordinate, and provide administrative support for site visits, symposiums, workshops, and remote collaboration.
  • Maintain and update knowledge exchange and SharePoint sites, action item trackers, and distribution lists.
  • Support the development of technical reports, presentations, and studies aligned with readiness objectives.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field and Master’s degree in Health Administration or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with DoD policy and operations.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing or coordinating large-scale programs or projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must possess a current favorable Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief and collaborate with senior leaders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting Air Force Medical Service or other DoD healthcare programs.
  • Familiarity with readiness programs such as CMRP, TCCC, or MEDIC-X.
  • Knowledge of government contract operations and performance reporting (e.g., CDRLs, QCPs).
  • Change management or organizational development experience in complex, matrixed environments.

Work Environment:
  • Primary duty location is Defense Health Headquarters at 7700 Arlington Blvd, Arlington, VA.
  • Telework is authorized on an ad-hoc or situational basis with COR approval.
  • Standard work hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, excluding Federal holidays.
  • Must be responsive and available within 2 hours during duty hours when telecommuting.
  • Occasional CONUS / OCONUS travel may be required
